Engagement Party Decorations: The
Basics |
Have you found yourself in charge of
throwing an engagement party? Are you wondering what fun and
fresh new ideas are available for engagement party
decorations and engagement party favors to help ensure your
party is a hit? Well, you are in the right place. With a
little thoughtful consideration and a few simple tips, you
be able to throw an engagement party that is a perfect send
off, for the happy couple, on their journey towards wedded
bliss.
Thankfully, engagement party decorations
are one of the easiest ways to create a memorable occasion
for both the guests as well as the happy couple. I do
suggest that the style and theme that you ultimately choose
should not follow along the theme of the wedding. You don’t
want to create anything that might rival the big day. So, if
you know that a very traditional, formal wedding is being
planned, go for engagement party decorations that are more
laid back and fun.
Engagement Party Decoration
Ideas
-
It is important to remember that engagement party
decorations don’t have to be expensive. Balloons,
banners, streamers and coordinating confetti that
is spread on the table tops, while being
inexpensive, still looks really nice and makes for
a festive atmosphere.
-
Welcome guests with a banner at the entrance.
Include the names of the happy couple and a cute
saying that expresses congratulations. These can be
made very reasonably and add a lot to the party.
-
Make a large collage of both the bride and groom
filled with pictures of them as children, growing
up and as a couple. This is a wonderful addition to
your engagement party decorations and can be a
wonderful keepsake the couple is sure to
appreciate. If you have time you can make them into
a slide show that is continuously running on a
television in the background.
-
If you have chosen a theme for your party, make
sure your decorations reflect that. If your theme
is LOVE you could achieve the look of romance with
rose petals on the tablecloths, crystal candle
holders, and red and white table linins. This is
also when engagement party favors come into play,
too. Making sure they follow the theme, adds to the
fun. Following the Love theme, heart shaped
measuring spoons that have a little tag with the
couple’s names and wedding date or maybe dried rose
petal potpourri in a mesh bag would make a fun
favor. While cute little palm tree shaped boxes
filled with candy would be a great compliment to a
beach or tropical theme.
-
Tableware is another part of the engagement party
decorations that shouldn’t be overlooked. “Real”
place settings would be very acceptable for a more
formal party. There are so many party supply stores
that have a huge variety of plates, silverware,
beverage ware and serving pieces available that you
can rent. For that matter, you can rent the tables,
chairs, table linens and anything else you might
need to throw a successful party.
-
Of course you will also be able to find paper or
plastic ware for any theme you might consider
having. If you are going with a casino night, you
can find plastic tumblers that are decorated like
dice or plates that look like playing cards. Or if
you are having a wine tasting theme, you can find
table ware that portray lovely pictures of
vineyards, which would look great on rustic colors
of linens. The possibilities are endless whether
you are going with a theme or not.
This is a time when you can have fun and
get really creative. You can go in so many different
directions that the possibilities are endless. The most
important thing to remember is that there are no right or
wrong when it comes to decorating for an engagement party.
Keep the couple in mind, use your imagination and your
guests as well as the bride and groom will appreciate all
the extra effort you put in to the celebration of such a
wonderful time. Have fun choosing your theme and shopping
for the perfect engagement party decorations and favors!
